I am Meghan, a married mother of three girls! I have a 13 year old daughter, a 2 year old daughter and another baby girl who is not yet a year old. So, of course, my home is a busy one. I went to college for digital art (graphic art) and design but was having a hard time finding the right direction for a career and making it stick. It is now more of a hobby for me. Having two babies close together made it difficult for me to work outside the home, and let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to stay at home with such amazing little people?
Some quick things about me….. I love music, reading, computers, and DIY fashion. I love the outdoors and am a bit of a hippie type these days. I call it bohemian. I love boho everything. I gave up coffee a long time ago to limit my
I am an extremely creative person. I have always been into finding new ways to express my artistic side, most recently, it has evolved into a crafting obsession. I have much love for all types of crafting but most specifically, a passion for the fiber arts. Knitting and crochet have done wonders for my life. I found it to be an effective way to combat stress and anxiety. It can be sort of a meditative thing for me. And there is always the satisfaction that comes with making the cutest things for both me and my kids, as well as for others to enjoy.
About My Brand…
I took my love of the fiber arts and started a side business (well more of a side hustle for extra money than a business) making and selling finished pieces to friends, family and others who came across my work. I sold pieces I made and did custom orders. But I soon realized the time it took to produce each finished piece was not worth the side money (or lack there of) that it brought in. It was not a scalable business model and would not allow me to bring in the income needed to help support my family. So, because I had started to get really creative and write my own crochet patterns, I decided to sell the patterns online. While I’m at it, I thought, I might as well pursue my long held dream of blogging and start a fiber arts blog so that I can share my passion with others and help people to learn, improve and enjoy the fiber arts as much as I do.
The Stitch Vixen website is a place where you can come for not only free patterns, but tips, tricks, resources, tutorials and news on the topic. I hope if you are a beginner, I can help you learn. If you are already somewhat experienced, I can help you improve. And if you are already a pro at this, I can share beautiful and useful patterns with you to get working on.
I offer many of my patterns for free on the blog but ad free, printable versions are available in my shop for those who like to have the pattern PDFs and who also would like to help me out and purchase my patterns. It takes a lot of money, time and energy to produce these patterns, as most of you already know. And I thank all of you who make purchases from me with all of my heart.
I am starting a You Tube channel for my brand, where there will be all sorts of tutorials. I will link to the channel of course, so swing through and check it out!
I am also going to link to my Etsy shop where, along with the patterns, I will be selling cute and funny printed merchandise for those who, like me, love having shirts, bags, mugs and other merchandise with funny sayings or graphics related to this topic I am so passionate about.
Thankyou for stopping through my About page and taking the time to learn more about me. I hope I can help you on your crochet/knit journey and that you enjoy my website and all it has to offer. It is a pretty new website but I will be consistently adding new content for my readers.
